Things that I cannot see Are infinitely available to me, And yet that which I do see Are strangely unobtainable.
That which I see so clearly And feel so dearly Are nothing but merely A fragile glass veil.
Covering all before my eyes Sweetening all that I despise And forcing me to covet a rare prize That which I thought I had already held.
A mirror reflecting my dearest of dreams A glass veil disguising what seems Taking that which I hold to such high esteem Only to shatter and reveal horrifying dross.
Become that menagerie of filth And attempt to use as tilth Yet watch it fail as it all becomes spilth In the wasted efforts of yet another failure.
So cover my eyes oh mighty glass veil And let me see not the brittle bones that fail. In their tasks to uphold the world, I do hail, That the mirrored veil of glass continues its merciless delusions.
